The full details of the soundtrack album for Guillermo del Toro’s Netflix original film Frankenstein have been revealed. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla, Jurassic World Rebirth,The King’s Speech, The Queen). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 7 by Netflix Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror sequel Black Phone 2 co-written and directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Ethan Hawke, Demián Bichir, Miguel Mora, Jeremy Davies and Arianna Rivas. The film’s original music composed by the director’s son, Atticus Derrickson, who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Carter Burwell (Carol, Fargo, The Banshees of Inisherin, True Grit, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Blind Side, Twilight, Anomalisa) has composed the film’s original music. Alexandre Desplat Scoring Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’
Composer Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The King’s Speech, The Queen, Philomena, Godzilla) is reteaming with director Guillermo del Toro on the upcoming Netflix original film Frankenstein. The movie is written and directed by del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim) and stars Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Lars Mikkelsen, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz. The gothic horror film is based on Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in an experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
Craig Armstrong to Score Paul McGuigan’s ‘Frankenstein’
Director Paul McGuigan announced on Twitter that Craig Armstrong will be composing the music for the upcoming horror thriller Frankenstein. The film based on a number of contemporary adaptations of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel of the same title stars Daniel Radcliffe as hunchback Igor and James McAvoy as Victor Frankenstein. Jessica Brown Findlay, Andrew Scott and Mark Gatiss are co-starring. No plot details have been announced yet. Max Landis (Chronicle, American Ultra) has written the screenplay and John Davis (Predator, I, Robot, Waterworld, The Blacklist) is producing the project for Davis Entertainment.
