Capitol Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ original documentary The Beach Boys. The album features a collection of songs from the titular band, including such hits as Good Vibrations, God Only Knows, Wouldn’t It Be Nice, Don’t Worry Baby, Surfin’ U.S.A., Fun, Fun, Fun, among others. Also included as a bonus track is the new Beach Boys-inspired track Baby Blue Bathing Suit co-written (with Dan Nigro & Amy Allen) and performed by Stephen Sanchez (check out the music video below). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 24 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Beach Boys is directed by Frank Marshall & Thom Zimny and centers on the legendary band that revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come.

Mike McCready Scoring Disney+’s ‘The Beach Boys’ Documentary
Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready (of Pearl Jam) has provided the original score for the new Disney+ original documentary The Beach Boys. The film is directed by Frank Marshall (Alive, Arachnophobia, The Bee Gees: How Can You Bend a Broken Heart) & Thom Zimny (Sly, Western Stars) and traces the band from humble family beginnings and features never-before-seen footage and new interviews with Brian Wilson, Mike Love, David Marks, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, among other luminaries in the music business.
‘Alive’ Digital Soundtrack Album Released
Hollywood Records has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1993 survival drama Alive directed by Frank Marshall and starring Ethan Hawke, Josh Hamilton, Bruce Ramsay, Vincent Spano, lleana Douglas, John Haymes Newton and Danny Nucci. The album features the film’s original music composed and produced by Academy Award nominee James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, King Kong, Maleficent, The Fugitive). The label has previously released a CD (and cassette) version when the movie opened in theaters in 1993 and Intrada Records has released a 2-CD version featuring the composer’s expanded score in 2020.
Expanded ‘Alive’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 survival drama Alive directed by Frank Marshall and starring Ethan Hawke, Josh Hamilton, Vincent Spano, Bruce Ramsay, John Haymes Newton, Illeana Douglas and Danny Nucci. The album features the original score from the Touchstone Pictures production composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Fugitive, Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them), including 40 minutes of previously unreleased music, plus another 30 minutes of revisions and alternates. The 2-CD is now available to order on Amazon and the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples.
