CAM Sugar has released a soundtrack album for the Italian period drama God Laughs (Dio ride). The album features the film’s original music composed by Paolo Buonvino (The Leopard, Fatima, Medici, Romanzo Criminale, Here Now, Fathers & Daughters, Quiet Chaos). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composer’s title track after the jump. God Laughs is co-written and directed by Giovanni Veronesi and stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Silvio Orlando, Alma Noce, Maurizio Lombardi, Francesco Gheghi, Paolo Rossi and Carlo Cecch. The movie is set in 17th-century Tuscany and follows a charismatic friar whose joyful preachings about a God who laughs win over the masses but ultimately provoke a dangerous trial by hostile Church authorities.
