MovieScore Media has announced a soundtrack album for the Danish psychological drama The Pact (Pagten). The album features the film’s original music composed by Frederic Vercheval (This Is Our Land, The Sower, Pas son genre, Diamond 13, Mother’s Instinct). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 6, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Pact is directed by Bille August (Pelle the Conqueror, The House of the Spirits) and stars Birthe Neumann, Simon Bennebjerg, Asta August and Nanna Skaarup Voss. The movie centers on the intense friendship between Karen Blixen, the Danish author best known for her autobiographical novel Out of Africa and Thorkild Bjørnvig, a young poet she met after returning from Africa.

Annette Focks Scoring Bille August’s ’55 Steps’
Annette Focks is reteaming with director Bille August on the upcoming biographical drama 55 Steps. The film starring Helena Bonham Carter, Hilary Swank and Jeffrey Tambor tells the true story of a mentally ill woman fighting the powerful psychiatric establishment for greater self-control, and the lawyer who becomes her champion and friend. Mark Rosin wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project with Anita Elsani and Sara Risher (Raise Your Vice, Lila & Eve).

Alhambra Records has released a soundtrack album for the thriller Night Train to Lisbon. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Annette Focks (4 Minutes). Night Train to Lisbon is directed by Bille August (The House of the Spirits, Pelle the Conqueror) and stars Jeremy Irons, Melanie Laurent, Jack Huston, Martina Gedeck, Tom Courtenay, August Diehl, Bruno Ganz, Lena Olin, Christopher Lee and Charlotte Rampling. The movie is based on the bestselling novel by Pascal Mercier and follows a Swiss Professor who becomes obsessed by a mysterious book that convinces him he should leave academia behind and travel to Lisbon.
