Deadline is reporting that composer/music producer Elliott Wheeler (The Get Down) and writer/director Michael Sucsy (The Vow, Grey Gardens) are writing the music and lyrics for the original movie musical A Lot Like Christmas. Sucsy will also direct the film, which is set in New York City and revolves around EGOT-winner Riva DeLange, a woman synonymous with Christmas, as she revives her once-famous Christmas special in an attempt to reconnect with her children who hate the holidays because of their mother. Brian Oliver (1917, Black Swan) and Brad Fischer (Shutter Island, Zodiac) are producing the project for New Republic Pictures, alongside Sucsy’s HungryDuck Productions.
