Toby Chu (Bao, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, Found, Covert Affairs, Unforgettable, Henchmen, Centaurworld) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming Netflix original animated film The Monkey King. The movie is directed by Anthony Stacchi (The Boxtrolls) and features the voices of Jimmy O. Yang, Bowen Yang, Jo Koy, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Stephanie Hsu, Ron Yuan, Hoon Lee, Andrew Pang, Jodi Long, Andrew Kishino, James Sie and BD Wong. The animated comedy follows a monkey and his magical fighting Stick as they team up on an epic quest where they must go head to head against gods, demons, dragons and his own ego. Peilin Chou (Abominable, Over the Moon) is producing the project. Stephen Chow serves as an executive producer. The Monkey King is set to premiere this year on Netflix.
Chu’s recent projects also include the CBS drama True Lies, which is premiering tonight.
