Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the Brazilian drama Private Desert (Deserto Particular). The album features the film’s original music composed by Felipe Ayres (The Battle of Shangri-la, The Love of Catarina). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 10 and is now available for pre-order here. Private Desert is co-written and directed by Aly Muritiba and stars Antonio Saboia, Pedro Fasanaro, Thomas Aquino, Zezita De Matos, Laila Garin and Sandro Guerra. The movie, which has been selected as Brazil’s submission in the Best International Feature category for next year’s Academy Awards, follows a police man who – after being discharged due to violent behavior – crosses the country to find his online love who has suddenly vanished. The drama premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival and was released in Brazilian theaters last month. Kino Lorber has recently picked up domestic distribution rights for a release in the U.S. in 2022.
