THR is reporting that Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, A Few Good Men, Mary Poppins Returns, When Harry Met Sally..., Sleepless in Seattle, Sister Act) has been hired to score the upcoming comedy Bros. The film is directed by Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and stars Billy Eichner, Luke Macfarlane, Guillermo Díaz, Jim Rash, Eve Lindley, D’Lo Srijaerajah, Peter Kim, Justin Covington, Dot-Marie Jones, Becca Blackwell, Bowen Yang, Harvey Fierstein, Benito Skinner and TS Madison. The movie centers on two men with commitment issues who attempt a relationship. Stoller also co-wrote the screenplay with Eichner and is producing the project with Judd Apatow (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up) and Josh Church. Bros is set to be released in theaters on August 12, 2022 by Universal Pictures.
Shaiman has also recently contributed a song to Marvel’s Disney+ series Hawkeye, which premiered last week.
