Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish political drama Maixabel. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Alberto Igelsias (The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Pain & Glory, Volver, Parallel Mothers). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and Apple Music/iTunes, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Maixabel is co-written and directed by Icíar Bollaín and stars Blanca Portillo, Luis Tosar, María Cerezuela, Urko Olazabal and Tamara Canosa. The movie tells the true story of a woman who, after having her husband was killed by the Basque group ETA, decided to take a brave step towards coexistence and peace by agreeing to face the imprisoned ETA terrorist behind the murder of her husband. The drama opened in Spanish theaters last month. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
