Nigerian composer Ré Olunuga (Up North, Coming from Insanity) has signed on to score the upcoming Disney+ original film Greek Freak. The movie is directed by Akin Omotoso (Vaya) and stars Uche Agada, Yetide Badaki and Dayo Okeniyi. The drama is inspired by the true story of NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s life and his family who through faith, determination, and their unbreakable bond, would unite to lift themselves out of a life of poverty as undocumented immigrants living in Greece. Arash Amel (A Private War, The Titan) wrote the screenplay and Bernie Goldmann (300, Fool’s Gold) is producing the project. Greek Freak has recently been shooting in Athens, Greece. No release date has been announced yet for the movie, which is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+.
