Sherri Chung (Batwoman, Blindspot, Riverdale, The Lost Husband) has been tapped to score the upcoming HBO Max animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. The show is developed by Tze Chun and features the voices of Izaac Wang, Ming-Na Wen, BD Wong, James Hong, Gabrielle Green, A.J. LoCascio and Matthew Rhys. The Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Television production based on Joe Dante’s 1984 feature (scored by Jerry Goldsmith) is set in 1920s Shanghai and tells the story of how 10-year-old Sam Wing (future shop owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 movie) met the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey (The Americans, Falling Skies) and Sam Register (Animaniacs, Harley Quinn) are executive producing the project. Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is expected to premiere later this year on HBO Max. (Variety)
Chung also continues to score The CW’s Kung Fu, which just premiered earlier this week, and co-score Riverdale & Batwoman with Blake Neely.
