Christopher Lennertz & Dara Taylor have teamed up to score the upcoming comedy Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. The film is directed by Josh Greenbaum (Becoming Bond) and stars Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo, Jamie Dornan and Damon Wayans. The movie follows two lifelong friends as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time. Wiig & Mumolo also wrote the screenplay and are producing the project with Will Ferrell & Adam McKay (The Big Short, Talladega Nights), Jessica Elbaum (Hustlers, Booksmart) and Margot Hand (Brittany Runs a Marathon). Nick Urata was originally set to score the movie. Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar is currently set to be released in theaters nationwide on July 16, 2021 by Lionsgate.
Lennertz (Sausage Party, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Ride Along) also has Tim Story’s feature Tom & Jerry (scheduled to be released in theaters on March 5, 2021) and will also return to score the third seasons of Netflix’s Lost in Space and Amazon’s The Boys, both of which are expected to premiere in 2021. Taylor’s other recent projects include the crime drama Echo Boomers co-written and directed by Seth Savoy and starring Patrick Schwarzenegger, Alex Pettyfer and Michael Shannon. The movie will be released in select theaters and on VOD on November 13 by Saban Films.
