Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Sausage Party, Supernatural, Baywatch) has been tapped to score the upcoming live-action/animated hybrid feature Tom & Jerry. The film is directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Barbershop) and stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Michael Pena, Colin Jost, Ken Jeong, Rob Delaney, Jordan Bolger and Pallavi Sharda. The movie based on the cartoon characters created by William Hanna & Joseph Barbera follows a scrappy hustler who enlists Tom to help her evict Jerry from a fancy New York hotel before a high class wedding. Chris DeFaria (Cats & Dogs) is producing the Warner Animation Group production. Lennertz has previously collaborated with Story on such movies as Ride Along, Ride Along 2, Think Like a Man, Think Like a Man Too and last year’s Shaft. Tom & Jerry is currently scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on March 5, 2021 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Lennertz also continues to score Amazon’s The Boys, which will return for its second season on September 4, 2020 and Netflix’s Lost in Space, which has been renewed for a third and final season, which is expected to premiere in 2021.

  1. I always thought either Mark Mancina and/or Christophe Beck would do the score, but Christopher Lennertz would do.
