Laura Karpman has won her first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for her score for the episode Tools & Tactics from the Discover docu-series Why We Hate at today’s first part of the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. She has previously been received Primetime Emmy Award nominations for the TV series Odyssey 5 and Masters of Science Fiction and is also up for an Emmy this year for her main title theme from Why We Hate. Her score from the series has been released by Lakeshore Records.The other composers nominated in the category were Kamasi Washington for the Netflix documentary Becoming, Amanda Jones for Apple TV+’s Home, Pinar Toprak & Alex Kovacs for HBO’s McMillions and Mark Mothersbaugh, John Enroth & Albert Fox for Netflix’s Tiger King.
