Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) is reteaming with director Gia Coppola to score the upcoming drama Mainstream. The film starring Andrew Garfield, Maya Hawke, Nat Wolff, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Knoxville, Chris Messina, Alexa Demie & Colleen Camp is being described as a cautionary tale about the devastating power of social media and follows three people who struggle to preserve their identities as they form an eccentric love triangle. Coppola also co-wrote the screenplay with Tom Stuart. Fred Berger (La La Land, Destroyer, Bad Education) is producing the Automatik Entertainment and American Zoetrope production with Garfield and Coppola, as well as Lauren Bratman (The Stanford Prison Experiment). Siena Oberman, Zac Weinstein, Enrico Saraiva & Francisco Rebelo de Andrade and Jack Heller (Dragged Across Concrete, Bone Tomahawk). Hynes has previously scored Coppola’s feature directorial debut Palo Alto. Mainstream will premiere in September at the Venice Film Festival.
