The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Life of Crime, Oculus) are scoring the upcoming AMC original series The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The show is created by Scott M. Gimple (who served as the showrunner of Seasons 4 through 8 of the original The Walking Dead) & Matt Negrete and stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Nico Tortorella and Julia Ormond. The drama centers on a heroic group of teens who, sheltered from the dangers of the post-apocalyptic world, receive a message that inspires them to leave the safety of the only home they have ever known and embark on a cross-country journey to save their father – and possibly the world. Gimple & Negrete are also executive producing the AMC Studios production with Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Armageddon), David Alpert (Locke & Key, American Ultra) and Brian Bockrath. The limited series, which will run for two seasons, marks the third show within The Walking Dead franchise following the original series, which is being scored by Bear McCreary & Sam Ewing and Fear the Walking Dead, which is being scored by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans. The Walking Dead: World Beyond will premiere on April 12, 2020 on AMC. Visit the official show website for updates.
The composers will also return to score Netflix’s The Haunting of Bly Manor, the second season of Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, which is expected to premiere later this year.
