Gabriel Mann is composing the original score for the new NBC drama Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Mateo Messina (Juno, Superstore, Women Who Kill) has provided the themes for the show created by Austin Winsberg and starring Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Peter Gallagher and Mary Steenburgen. The series revolves around a whip-smart computer coder in San Francisco who suddenly starts to hear the innermost wants, thoughts and desires of the people around her – her family, co-workers and complete strangers – through popular songs. Harvey Mason Jr. serves as the project’s executive music producer and Jen Ross is the music supervisor. Winsberg is also executive producing the Lionsgate and Universal Television production with Kim & Eric Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men, The Last O.G.), Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters), Jessie Henderson (A Simple Favor, Spy), David Blackman, Daniel Inkeles, Gretchen Berg & Aaron Harberts (Star Trek: Discovery) and Adam Davidson (I’m Dying Up Here). Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is premiering tonight before moving to its regular Sunday night time slot on February 16. Visit the official show website for updates.
Mann also continues to score ABC’s Modern Family & A Million Little Things, Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and CBS’ The Unicorn and Carol’s Second Act.
