Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (Loveless, The Family, The Wizard of Lies, Nine Lives) have been tapped to score the upcoming drama Persian Lessons. The film is directed by Vadim Perelman (The House of Sand and Fog, The Life Before Her Eyes) and stars Nahuel Perez Biscayart and Lars Eidinger. The movie set in Occupied France in 1942 centers on the relationship between a man who is arrested by the SS alongside other Jews and sent to a concentration camp in Germany and the head of the camp who dreams of opening a restaurant in Iran once the war is over. Ilya Stewart & Murad Osmann & Pavel Buria (Leto) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) are producing the project. Persian Lessons is currently in post-production. No word yet on a premiere date for the film.
The composers have also recently scored Francois Ozon’s By the Grace of God, which will be released in U.S. theaters on October 18, 2019.
