Ben Decter is composing the original score for the new ABC comedy Bless This Mess. The show is created by Lake Bell (In a World…) & Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl, Single Parents) and stars Bell herself, alongside Dax Shepard, Ed Begley Jr., Pam Grier and JT Neal. The series follows two newlyweds as they make the decision to move from big city New York to rural Nebraska and must learn how to weather the storm as they are faced with unexpected challenges in their new life as farmers. Bell, Meriwether are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and ABC Studios production with Shepard, Jake Kasdan (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Bad Teacher), Melvin Mar (Speechless, Fresh Off the Boat), Erin O’Malley (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Katherine Pope (Terra Nova). Bless This Mess will premiere on April 16 and will air every Tuesday night on ABC. Visit the official show website for updates.
Decter (Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, Shut Eye, Lethal Weapon, CSI: Cyber) also continues to score Lucifer, which will return for its fourth season on May 8 on Netflix. The composer also has the sports drama The Nomads directed by Brandon Eric Kamin and starring Tate Donovan, Tika Sumpter, Jennifer Butler and Christopher Mann coming up.
