Has Patrick Doyle ever not scored a Kenneth Branagh film?
Peter’s Friends. But there was no score… so…
There was also a version of The Magic Flute. Music for that was by some guy called Mozart?
Branagh’s 1995 film “In the Bleak Midwinter” (released in the US as “A Midwinter’s Tale) had a score by Jimmy Yuill instead of Patrick Doyle. If i remember right, the film had an extremely low budget and Doyle was too expensive. Doyle did have a cameo in the film, though.
Mr Doyle has written or collaborated every Sir Kenneth Branagh film plus many others.
Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1994) should not go unmentioned -underrated movie, and Doyle’s score is one of his most enjoyable works, an expanded and remastered release is long overdue as the 1994 CD shows its age.
