Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Annabelle: Creation) has signed on to score the upcoming Hellboy reboot. The film is directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent, Doomsday, Centurion) and stars David Harbour, Ian McShane, Milla Jovovich, Daniel Dae Kim, Sasha Lane, Penelope Mitchell, Sophie Okonedo, Alistair Petrie and Brian Gleeson. The movie based on the Dark Horse Comics character created by Mike Mignola follows the title character as he is caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human and battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge. Larry Gordon (Die Hard, Predator) and Lloyd Levin (Watchmen, The Rocketeer, Boogie Nights) are producing the Millennium Films/Dark Horse Entertainment with Mike Richardson. The previous film adaptations of Hellboy directed by Guillermo del Toro were scored by Marco Beltrami and Danny Elfman. Hellboy is set to be released on January 11, 2019 by Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment.
Wallfisch’s other upcoming projects include the crime thriller King of Thieves starring Michael Caine, Steven Knight’s Serenity starring Matthew McConaughey & Anne Hathaway, the film adaptation of The Darkest Minds, the DreamWorks Animation short Bilby, and the thriller Keepers starring Gerard Butler.
