Edward Shearmur is currently recording his score for the upcoming family comedy Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. The film is directed by David Bowers (Flushed Away, Astroboy) and stars Jason Ian Drucker, Charlie Wright, Owen Asztalos, Tom Everett Scott and Alicia Silverstone. The movie based on Jeff Kinney’s best-selling book series follows Greg Heffley as he convinces his family to go on a summer road trip to attend Meemaw’s 90th birthday – although really he hopes to secretly attend what he thinks is a nearby gamer convention. Color Force’s Nina Jacobson (The Hunger Games, One Day) and Brad Simpson (American Crime Story) are producing the project. Shearmur has previously scored the previous two movies in the series directed by Bowers, while Theodore Shapiro scored the first movie in the franchise. The comedy will be released nationwide on May 19, 2017 by 20th Century Fox. Visit the official movie website for updates. (ScoringSessions)
