Brooke Blair and Will Blair are composing the music for the upcoming indie comedy Small Crimes. The film is directed by Evan Katz (Cheap Thrills) and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jacki Weaver, Robert Forster, Gary Cole, Molly Parker and Pat Healy. The movie follows a disgraced former cop who is released from prison and returns home looking for redemption but winds up trapped in the mess he left behind. Katz also co-wrote the screenplay with the composers’ brother Macon Blair who also appears in the film. David Lancaster (Whiplash, Nightcrawler, Eye in the Sky) and Stephanie Wilcox are producing the project. Small Crimes will have its world premiere next month at the SXSW Film Festival and is expected to premiere later this year on Netflix.
The Blair Brothers’ recent projects also include Macon Blair’s I Don’t Feel at Home in this World Anymore, which premiered at last month’s Sundance Film Festival and will premiere this coming Friday on Netflix, as well as the documentary Batman & Bill and the drama The Scent of Rain and Lightning.
