Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD Club series. Among the titles is a deluxe edition soundtrack for Guillermo del Toro’s 2004 feature Hellboy starring Ron Perlman, John Hurt, Selma Blair and Doug Jones. The 2-CD set features the expanded score from the film composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine, World War Z, Scream series, The Hurt Locker), including more than an hour of previously unreleased music.. The soundtrack is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to pre-order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and check out the full album details.
The label has also announced a deluxe edition soundtrack for the 1993 action sequel RoboCop 3 directed by Fred Dekker and starring Robert John Burke, Nancy Allen and Rip Torn. The album features the expanded score from the film composed by Basil Poledouris (Starship Troopers, Conan the Barbarian, The Hunt for Red October, For the Love of the Game) who also scored Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 original RoboCop movie. The soundtrack is limited to 2000 copies and is now available to order in Varese’s online store, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio clips.
The label has also announced a re-release of the soundtrack album for the 1985 thriller Jagged Edge directed by Richard Marquand and starring Glenn Close, Jeff Bridges, Peter Coyote and Robert Loggia featuring the film’s original music composed by John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa).
