This past week, Daniel Pemberton has recorded his score for the upcoming adventure drama Gold. The film is directed by Stephen Gaghan (Syriana) and stars Matthew McConaughey, Bryce Dallas Howard, Edgar Ramirez, Corey Stoll, Toby Kebbell, Bruce Greenwood and Stacy Keach. The movie follows a modern-day prospector desperate for a lucky break who teams up with a similarly eager geologist and sets off to find gold in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia. Patrick Massett and John Zinman (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The Blacklist) have written the screenplay. McConaughey, Massett & Zinman are also producing the project with Black Bear Pictures’ Teddy Schwarzman (The Imitation Game, All Is Lost) and HWY 61’s Michael Nozik (The Motorcycle Diaries, Quiz Show). Gold is set to be released on December 25, 2016 by the Weinstein Company.
Pemberton’s upcoming projects also include Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. His previous scoring credits include Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs, Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Ridley Scott’s The Counselor.
