Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe are scoring the upcoming NBC event mini-series A.D.. The 12-parter is the sequel to last year’s History series The Bible and starts with the Crucifixion and The Resurrection and chronicles the events that follow. The show’s cast includes Juan Pablo di Pace, Vincent Regan, Greta Scacchi, Aniss Elkohen, Richard Coyle, Babou Ceesay, Chipo Chung, Cesare Taurasi and Adam Levy. Simon Block (Inspector Lewis) has written the scripts. Mark Burnett (Survivor, Shark Tank) and Roma Downey are executive producing the project with Richard Bedser. Zimmer and Balfe have previously scored last year’s History original The Bible for the producers, as well as the theatrical version Son of God.
