In addition, John Williams received a nomination for the track The Boof Thief from the movie of the same title in the Best Instrumental Composition category.

Among the film composers, both Steven Price and Christophe Beck are first time Grammy nominees. John Williams has received 62 previous Grammy nominations and won the award 21 times, Thomas Newman has previously been nominated 10 times (and received 6 Grammys, most recently last year for Skyfall) and Alexandre Desplat has been nominated four times for The King’s Speech (for which he also won), Argo, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross were previously honored with a Grammy for their work on David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
