Laurent Eyquem has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller Tokarev. The film will be directed by Spanish filmmaker Paco Cabezas and is set to star Nicolas Cage as a reformed criminal searching for his daughter who has been kidnapped by the Russian mob. Sean Keller and Jim Agnew (Giallo) have written the screenplay and Richard Rionda Del Castro (Casino Jack, The Son of No One) will produce for Hannibal Classics in association with North by Northwest Entertainment. Cage, Keller and Agnew are also executive producing the project with Patricia Eberle, Richard Salvatore, Mike Nilon, Hayley Magouirk, Cam Cannon, David Milner and Martin Barab. Eyquem has recently completed his score for the Civil War drama Copperhead directed by Ron Maxwell (Gettysburg) and starring Billy Campbell, Angus MacFadyen and Peter Fonda. The composer recorded his orchestral score at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank this past November. It has recently been announced that the film will be released on June 28, 2013. The composer has also scored the drama Winnie directed by Darrell Roodt (Cry, the Beloved Country) and starring Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard. The movie is expected to be released in the US later this year.
