Composer Dave Palmer is reteaming with director Peter Farrelly (Green Book, There’s Something About Mary) on the upcoming biographical drama I Play Rocky. The film stars Anthony Ippolito as Sylvester Stallone, alongside AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts, Matt Dillon, Jay Duplass, Stephan James and Kiki Seto. The movie follows an unknown Stallone as he gambles everything on himself, refusing to sell his highly sought-after Rocky screenplay unless the studio lets him star as Rocky Balboa.Peter Gamble (Office Uprising) wrote the screenplay. Farrelly is also producing the project with Christian Baha, Toby Emmerich (Final Destination: Bloodlines, Frequency) and Paul Currie (Hacksaw Ridge, Better Man). Palmer has previously scored Farrelly’s last three features, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Ricky Stanicky & Balls Up and also collaborated with the filmmaker on the TV series Loudermilk. I Play Rocky will premiere this coming weekend at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on November 6, 2026 by Amazon MGM Studios before expanding nationwide later that month.
