Raffertie (The Substance, The Continental: From the World of John Wick, Zone 414, White Dragon, One Way, Dragonfly. Bull) has composed the original music for the upcoming horror thriller Black Box. The film is directed by Steven Quale (Final Destination 5, Into the Storm) and stars Tom Brittney, Holly Leena White, Betsy Blue English, Dane Whyte O’Hara, Asa Ali, Kaja Chan, Boadicea Ricketts, Georgina Leonidas, Ceallach Spellman, Molly Belle Wright, Danny Mack, Hanneke Talbot and Weronika Rosati. The movie takes place on a routine domestic flight that turns into the flight from hell through a series of inexplicable phenomena and and follows a group of passengers as they fight against all the odds in an attempt to survive. Stephen Susco (The Grudge, Texas Chainsaw) wrote the screenplay. He is also producing the project with Jon Oakes, Christian Mercuri (Obsession, Don’t Move), David Haring (Fall, The Guilty) and Warren Zide (American Pie, Cats & Dogs). Black Box will be released on VOD on July 7, 2026 by Aura Entertainment.
Rafferie’s other recent projects include James McAvoy’s California Schemin’, which opened in UK theaters this past April following a premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and is set to be released in the U.S. on October 2 by Magnenta Light Studios.
