Tom Rowlands (of The Chemical Brothers) has won his first BAFTA TV Craft Award for his music from the Sky limited series Mussolini: Son of the Century directed by Joe Wright, written by Stefano Bises & Davide Serino based on Antonio Scurati’s best-selling novel and starring Luca Marinelli at tonight’s awards ceremony at The Brewery in London. A soundtrack album featuring Rowlands’ score from the 8-parter (which premiered in the U.S. on MUBI) has been released by Milan Records. The other nominees in the Original Music – Fiction category were Ariel Marx for Black Mirror: Hotel Reverie, Federico Jusid for A Thousand Blows and Nick Cave & Warren Ellis for The Death of Bunny Munro.
In the Original Music – Factual category, Jessica Dannheisser won the award for the BBC documentary The Last Musician of Auschwitz. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music has been released by Two Rivers Media. Visit the official BAFTA website for full list of winners.
