Marco Beltrami (Scream, Logan3:10 to YumaA Quiet Place, The Hurt LockerThe Wolverine, Ford v. FerrariHellboy) has revealed in a recent interview on Film Music Live that he will be reuniting with director Jean-Francois Richet (Mesrine: Killer Instinct, Assault on Precint 13) on the upcoming French Netflix original film Quasimodo. He is teaming up with Marcus Trumpp (Fear Street Part 1 & 3, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, Love and Monsters, Turbulence, Clown in a Cornfield) to co-score the movie starring Vincent Cassel, Karim Leklou, Daphné Patakia, Benjamin Voisin, Sébastien Pouderoux, Noémie Lvovsky, Eli Nachmani & Alexis Rosenstieh. The drama, which is set in Paris on the eve of 1830’s July Revolution and reimagines the life of the man said to have inspired Victor Hugo’s iconic character, Quasimodo, follows the title character who gets caught between political turmoil and an impossible love as the cholera epidemic spreads through the city. Eric Besnard (The Sense of Wonder, Delicious) and Edgar Marie (Paris Countdown) wrote the screenplay. Clément Miserez & Matthieu Warter (Belle & Sebastian, The Tall Man) are producing the project for Radar Films. Beltrami & Trumpp have previously co-scored Richet’s second Mesrine film, the 2018 French feature The Emperor of Paris and 2022’s Plane. Quasimodo will premiere this fall on Netflix.

Beltrami’s other recent projects include Kevin Williamson’s Scream 7, which just opened in theaters this past weekend, as well as Marina Zenovich’s The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson, which will premiere next week at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival.
