Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black WidowHis Dark MaterialsTop Gun: MaverickBlack Adam, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Amon Thieves, The Wheel of Time) has recently been scoring the upcoming Netflix original documentary series The Dinosaurs. The show is narrated by Morgan Freeman and follows the rise and fall of the dinosaurs across hundreds of millions of years. The 4-parter directed by Nick Shoolingin-Jordan examines their 165 million years on Earth and the forces that shaped their evolution. Dan Tapster, Keith Scholey (A Perfect Planet, Penguins) and Alastair Fothergill (Our Planet, Blue Planet) serve as the project’s showrunners. Scholey is also executive producing the Silverback Films & Amblin Documentaries production with Steven Spielberg, as well as Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey (The Americans, Masters of the Air). Balfe has previously scored the Netflix docu-series Life on Our Planet for the producers. The Dinosaurs will premiere on March 6, 2026 exclusively on Netflix.
