Tabula Rasa Edizioni Musicali has released a soundtrack EP for the Italian/Serbian/Croatian drama Balcanica. The 6-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Michele Braga (Dogman, Brigands: The Quest for Gold, Minerva Academy, Shadows, Freaks Out, The Blunder, Diva Futura, Rose Island). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composer’s title track after the jump. Balcanica is co-written and directed by Nicola Sorcinelli and stars Matilda De Angelis, Babak Karimi, Ivar Wafaei and Giovanni Toscano. The movie tells the story of an orchestra conductor and his son who flee the music ban in Afghanistan along the Balkan route, where their paths cross with a young humanitarian doctor facing a life-altering choice. The drama premiered at this year’s Venice Critics’ Weeks and is opening in Italian theaters today. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
