Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Alien: Earth, The Night Of, Legion, Ripley, For All Mankind, Zero Day, The Man Who Feel to Earth). Also included is Rufus Wainwright’s cover version of San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flower Covers in Your Hair) as featured in the first episode, which is embedded after the jump. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 16. Check back on this page for the streaming/download link. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is created by Gaia Violo and stars Holly Hunter, Sandro Rosta, George Hawkins, Karim Diané, Bella Shepard, Kerrice Brooks, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, Oded Fehr, Zoë Steiner, Mary Wiseman, Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti. The sci-fi drama follows a new class of cadets at Starfleet Academy, where college life collides with high-stakes missions to shape the next generation of leaders. The series is premiering today exclusively on Paramount+.
