Theodore Shapiro (Severance, Tropic Thunder, Ghostbusters, Bombshell, Spy, A Simple Favor, Dodgeball) is retuning to score the upcoming comedy sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2. The film is directed by David Frankel and stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt & Stanley Tucci who reprise their roles as Miranda, Andy, Emily & Nigel from the original 2006 hit feature. They are joined by new cast members Kenneth Branagh, Justin Theroux, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Caleb Hearon, Patrick Brammall, Helen J. Shen, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Conrad Ricamora. Aline Brosh McKenna (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Your Place or Mine) also returns as the screenwriter. Wendy Finerman (Forrest Gump, Stepmom) is producing the project. Shapiro has previously scored Frankel’s original original The Devil Wears Prada movie and also collaborated with the director on Marley & Me, The Big Year, Hope Springs, One Chance & Collateral Beauty. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on May 1, 2026 by 20th Century Studios.
Shapiro’s other upcoming feature projects include Paul Feig’s The Housemaid, which will be released in theaters nationwide on December 19 by Lionsgate. He will also return to score the third season of Apple TV+’s Severance.
