Tom Howe (Ted Lasso, Dog Man, Early Man, Knuckles, Daisy Jones & the Six, Parenthood, Book Club: The New Chapter, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon) has composed the original score for the upcoming romantic comedy Merv. The film is directed by Jessica Swale (Summerland) and stars Zooey Deschanel, Charlie Cox, Chris Redd and Patricia Heaton. The movie follows a couple whose beloved dog loses his spark after their split and forces them into the world’s most awkward co-parenting arrangement. Dane Clark & Linsey Stewart (Suze) wrote the screenplay. Matthew Baer (Unbroken, City by the Sea) and Roma Downey (The Bible, On a Wing and a Prayer) are producing the project. Merv will premiere on December 10, 2025 exclusively on Prime Video.
Howe’s other upcoming feature projects include Vanessa Caswill’s Reminders of Him, which is set to be released in theaters on March 13, 2026. He also continues to score Apple TV’s Shrinking, which will return for its third season on January 28.
