Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1971 Italian thriller Confessions of a Police Captain (Confessione di un commissario di polizia al procuratore della repubblica) co-written and directed by Damiano Damiani and starring Franco Nero, Martin Balsam and Marilù Tolo. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the film composed by Riz Ortolani (Mondo Cane, The Yellow Rolls-Royce, The 7th Dawn, The Spy with the Cold Nose, The Glory Guys), including previously unreleased music. The limited edition CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release. Confessions of a Police Captain is now available on DVD.
The label has also announced a remastered reissue of the expanded soundtrack album for the 1990 Italian drama Tre colonne in cronaca directed by Carlo Vanzina and starring Gian Maria Volonté, Massimo Dapporto and Sergio Castellitto. The album features the film’s original music composed, orchestrated and conducted by Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Mission, The Untouchables, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Hateful Eight) and is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio clips and find out more about the release. The label’s other new releases include the first-ever vinyl release of the soundtrack for the 1969 feature Playgirl ’70 directed by Federico Chentrens and featuring music by Piero Piccioni (click here for the full album details).
