Milan Records has released the official soundtrack album for the animated feature The Most Precious of Cargoes (La plus précieuse des marchandises). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The King’s Speech, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Queen, Godzilla) and performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. A CD version is also being released in France. The Most Precious of Cargoes is directed by Michel Hazanavicius and stars Jean-Louis Trintignant, Grégory Gadebois, Dominique Blanc and Denis Podalydès. The animated movie, which is based on Jean-Claude Grumberg’s novel of the same name tells the story of a poor woodcutter and his wife who rescues a baby that will transform their lives, premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is opening in French theaters today. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
