Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Wrestlers, Obliterated, Fright Krewe, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Florida Man) has been tapped to score the upcoming CBS drama Matlock. The show is developed by Jennie Snyder Urman (Jane the Virgin, Charmed) inspired by the classic 80s/90s series of the same title and stars Kathy Bates in the title role of Madeline “Matty” Matlock, Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis. The series follows the title character who, after achieving success in her younger years, decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from within. Snyder Urman & Bates are also executive producing the production with Joanna Klein (Broke), Eric Christian Olsen & John Will (Woke), as well as Kat Coiro (Marry Me, A Case of You) who also directed the pilot episode. Robinson has previously collaborated with Urman on CBS’ Good Sam. Matlock will premiere on September 22, 2024 on CBS.
Also coming up for Robinson are the final episodes of the sixth and final season of Netflix’s Cobra Kai, which will debut on November 15 (Part 2) and in early 2025 (Part 3).
