David Fleming (The Last of Us, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Unforgivable, Damsel, Blue Planet II, Hillbilly Elegy, The Night Logan Woke Up) has composed the original score for the upcoming Disney+ original documentary Jim Henson Idea Man. The film is directed by Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind) and explores the creative visionary’s mind, from his early years puppeteering on local television to the worldwide success of Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and beyond. The movie features new interviews with Henson’s closest collaborators and children, as well as never-before-seen materials from his personal archives. Howard is also producing the Imagine Documentaries production with Brian Grazer, Sara Bernstein, Margaret Bodde, Justin Wilkes, Mark Monroe and Christopher St. John. Fleming has previously co-scored Howard’s 2020 drama Hillbilly Elegy. Jim Henson Idea Man will premiere on May 31, 2024 on Disney+.
Fleming’s other upcoming feature projects include Barry Levinson’s Alto Knights, which is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on March 21, 2025 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
