Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, Miracle, A River Runs Through It, 42, Judas and the Black Messiah, The Accountant) is scoring the upcoming MGM+ original series Hotel Cocaine. The show is created by Chris Brancato (Narcos, Hannibal) and stars Danny Pino, Don Mike, Pedro Giunti, Lola Claire, Matthew Del Negro, Victor Oliveira, Robert Beck, Sam Robards and Candy Santana. The 8-part crime thriller tells the story of Roman Compte, Cuban exile and general manager of the Mutiny Hotel, the glamorous epicenter of the Miami cocaine scene of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Brancato serves the project’s showrunner and is also executive producing the MGM+ Television production with Michael Panes and Alfredo Barrios Jr. (Burn Notice, Six), as well as Academy Award-winning cinematographer Guillermo Navarro (Pan’s Labyrinth) who also directed the pilot episode. Hotel Cocaine will premiere on June 16, 2024 on MGM+.
Isham has previously collaborated with Broncato on the first three seasons of MGM+’s Godfather of Harlem, which has been renewed for a fourth season.
