Brandon Roberts (Underwater, Chaos Walking, Fear Street Part 2: 1978, Motherland: Fort Salem, On a Wing and a Prayer, The Twilight Zone) is scoring the upcoming slasher movie Thanksgiving. The film is directed by Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever, The House with a Clock in Its Walls) and stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Nell Verlaque, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon. The movie revolves around a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer who terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts, the birthplace of the holiday. Jeff Rendell wrote the screenplay based on a story by Roth and himself. They are both also producing the project with Roger Birnbaum (Rush Hour, While You Were Sleeping, The Magnificent Seven). Milan Records will release the movie’s official soundtrack album featuring Roberts’ score. The composer has previously collaborated with Roth on last year’s VR experience Trick VR Treat starring Vanessa Hudgens & Will Sasso. Thanksgiving will be released in theaters nationwide on November 17, 2023 by Sony Pictures.
Roberts’ other recent projects include the Paramount+ original horror movie Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, which is premiering this Friday, October 6. He also provided additional music to Michael Chaves’ The Nun II (scored by Marco Beltrami), which is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
