The full details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix animated film The Monkey King have been revealed. The album features the movie’s original score composed by Toby Chu (Bao, Found, Covert Affairs, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, Henchmen, Unforgettable). Also included are the original songs from the animated feature written by Tony Award winners Toby Marlow & Lucy Moss (SIX). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 18 by Netflix Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A first song (Take the World by Storm) has already been released last week. The Monkey King is directed by Anthony Stacchi and stars Jimmy O. Yang, Bowen Yang, Jo Koy, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, BD Wong, Nan Li, Ron Yuan and Stephanie Hsu. The animated comedy tells the story of a charismatic monkey and his magical fighting stick on an epic quest for victory over 100 demons, an eccentric Dragon King and his own ego. The film opened in select theaters last Friday and will premiere tomorrow on Netflix.
