Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) has confirmed in a recent interview with Deadline that he will be be scoring Tim Burton’s upcoming Beetlejuice sequel, with plans to visit the set this summer in London. The movie is expected to star Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder who will reprise their roles from the original 1988 movie. They are joined by Jenna Ortega who will starsas the daughter of Ryder’s Lydia. No plot details have been announced yet. Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Smallville, Shanghai Noon) are reportedly writing the screenplay. The original Beetlejuice film marked Elfman’s second feature for Burton following Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. Beetlejuice 2 is set to start production this summer. A release in 2024 is expected for the Warner Bros. Pictures production.
Elfman is also expected to be involved in scoring the second season of Gough’s & Millar’s Netflix series Wednesday produced by Burton.
