Producer Nina Jacobson has revealed during a recent interview at this year’s CinemaCon that Dave Cobb has co-written and produced new songs for Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The Grammy Award-winning music producer and songwriter who is best known for his work with country music artists such as Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson & John Prine has contributed several songs, which are performed in the film by Rachel Zegler who stars in the lead role as Lucy Gray Baird. As previously reported, James Newton Howard is composing the score for the The Hunger Games prequel, which also stars Tom Blyth, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Jason Schwartzman, Josh Andrés Rivera and Viola Davis. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be released in theaters nationwide on November 17, 2023 by Lionsgate.
