The Newton Brothers are currently scoring the upcoming Netflix limited series The Fall of the House of Usher. The show is created by Mike Flanagan and stars Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Bruce Greenwood, Mark Hamill and Carla Gugino. The 8-part horror drama is based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story of the same title and other works by the author and is being described as “an epic tale of greed, horror and tragedy.” Flanagan is also executive producing the Intrepid Pictures production with Trevor Macy (The Raven, The Bye Bye Man), as well as Emmy Grinwis and Michael Fimognari (To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You & Always and Forever). The composers have previously collaborated with Flanagan on all of his shows and films since 2013’s Oculus, including Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass and The Midnight Mass. The Fall of the House of Usher is expected to premiere this fall on Netflix.
The Newton Brothers also have Marvel Studios’ animated series X-Men ’97 coming up. They also have recently scored the new Showtime limited series Waco: The Aftermath created by Drew Dowdle & John Erick Dowdle (No Escape, Quarantine) and starring Michael Shannon, John Leguizamo, Giovanni Ribisi, J. Smith Cameron, David Costabile, Keean Johnson, John Hoogenakker and Abbey Lee. The 5-part drama is the sequel to the 2018 Waco series (scored by Jeff Russo & Jordan Gagne) and focuses on the fallout of the Waco disaster: the trials of the surviving members of the Branch Davidian sect and the rise of homegrown terrorist, Timothy McVeigh. The Dowdle Brothers and Shannon are also executive producing the MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios production with Taylor Kitsch, Andrew Gettens and Lauren Mackenzie, David C. Glasser (Yellowstone, Tulsa King), David Hutkin (George & Tammy), Bob Yari (The Illusionist), Ron Burkle (Mayor of Kingstown, 1883) and Gary Barber (The Vow, Shanghai Knights). The Newton Brothers have previously collaborated with Drew & John Erick Dowdle on the Spectrum series Joe Pickett. Waco: The Aftermath will debut this Friday, April for all Showtime subscribers before premiering on the linear channel on Sunday, April 16.
