Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Cabin Fever, Carnival Row, Hostel, Hollywood) & Dimitri Smith (Confession, The Mystery of Her) have recently scored the new Netflix original series The Diplomat. The show is created by Debora Cahn (Homeland) and stars Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Ato Essandoh, Rory Kinnear, Ali Ahn, Celia Imrie, Miguel Sandoval, Nana Mensah and Michael McKean. The political drama centers on a career diplomat as she juggles her new high-profile job as ambassador to the UK and her turbulent marriage to a political star. Cahn and Russell are also executive producing the Netflix Studios production with Janice Williams (The Magicians, Pieces of Her, Trumbo). Simon Cellan Jones (Some Voices, The One and Only) directed and executive produced the first two episodes. The Diplomat will premiere on April 20, 2023 on Netflix.
Barr’s other recent projects include Gary Dauberman’s Salem’s Lot (co-scored with Lisbeth Scott), which is currently awaiting a release date.
