Andrew Orkin (Save Yourselves!, Dead Pigs, Lucky Grandma) has released a soundtrack album for the indie drama Materna. The album features the composer’s original music from the movie and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Materna is directed by David Gutnik and stars Kate Lyn Sheil, Jade Eshete, Lindsay Burdge, Assol Abdullina (who also co-wrote the screenplay), Rory Culkin, Michael Chernus and Sturgill Simpson. The movie follows the journeys of four New York women who are isolated by city life, separated by class, race, politics and religion, and yet bound by a shared hunger for identity and connection. The drama premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival was released in select theaters and on VOD later that year by Utopia.
