Max Aruj (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Crawl, The Ice Road, Lansky, Mech Cadets, iBoy, The Tank) has composed the original score for the upcoming Netflix original series Man on Fire. The show is developed by Kyle Killen (Halo, Awake) based on A.J. Quinnell’s book series and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy and Paul Ben-Victor. The 7-part action drama tells the story of a once high-functioning and skilled Special Forces Mercenary, known for surviving even the most desolate of situations, who is now plagued with intense PTSD and sets out on a path to redemption in an effort to overcome his personal demons. Killen & Abdul-Mateen II are also executive producing the project with Arnon Milchan (The Revenant, Birdman), Yariv Milchan (Blitz, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) & Natalie Lehmann for New Regency Productions, Peter Chernin (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Oblivion), Jenno Topping (Ford v. Ferrari, Hidden Figures) & Tracey Cook for Chernin Entertainment, Scott Pennington (Wild Bill) for Chapter Eleven, Stacy Perskie (Bardo) for RedRum, Ed McDonnell (Sicario, Shogun), Michael Polaire (Kimi, Mosaic), as well as Steven Caple Jr. (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Creed II) who also directed the first two episodes. Man on Fire will premiere on April 30, 2026 exclusively on Netflix.
Aruj’s other upcoming projects include Brando Benetton’s crime thriller The Girl in the River (co-scored with W.F. Smith Leithart). The movie starring Devon Sawa, Maggie Grace, Tiffany Haddish & Ralph Macchio follows a seasoned criminologist and a young female psychologist who are lured to a remote Mississippi town to investigate the murder of a little girl and the disappearance of her twin sister. Andrew Stevens (The Ritual, Finding Faith) and Joe Lemmon (The Ritual Killer) are producing the project. No release date has been announced yet for the film.
